Professor Kim, an expert in Environmental Toxicology and Ecotoxicology, has engaged in the development of next-generation hazard assessment techniques using biomarkers in various animals, including humans and wildlife, to understand the effects of harmful chemicals. Her research also includes studies assessing the susceptibility of environmental pollutants through in silico and in vitro analysis of receptors, and investigating the evolutionary and ecological factors associated with species-specific susceptibility genes in different organisms.
She has published numerous SCI papers, including research articles in top-tier journals such as Environmental Science & Technology. Currently active in professional societies such as the Society of Toxicology (SOT), The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Professor Kim also contributes to international collaborations as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Center for Marine Environmental Studies, Ehime University, Japan.
